And that really puts a twist on the “survival” stuff! If you’re able to talk your way out of a situation, or agree with strangers to play it cool and cooperate, that’s really neat! It is sort of anti-battle-royale in what it’s saying/doing.

I half-agree! A lot of it is survival game “I collect items to make checklist go ca-chunk” but the proximity chat, and the stuff that comes out of running into other people, is the real standout of the game — probably the most important *thing* about it.
