My son’s poodle always shares his favorite toys with the newborn kids. They bleat and he is there comforting them. The same dog who chases birds, rodents, and rabbits all day long. Bowie has more empathy on 4 paws than the whole of the Republican leadership.

and friends, letting yourself be support staff is a *gift.* my severe depression in 2017 largely stemmed from seeing only the huge, heroic things that needed to be done and knowing I wasn’t suited to do any of them.
knowing that the little stuff I can do is valuable helps me not despair.

It is a lot more reasonable to look to the people who've been successfully doing on-the-ground advocacy than to think you need to start from scratch.
