seeing someone on twitter call someone else a bluesky user as if it’s an insult 😭 It really does baffle me sometimes. we automatically assume most people see the world similarly to us, but then it turns out a big chunk simply don’t, and their behavior is almost unfathomable

It is absolutely privilege for people to say the Black community needs to unite & just forget about colorism. We do need to resolve colorism. By confronting it. If you can ignore it, know that's not possible for many because of the bearing it has on their lives.

people are so racist that they literally need to be mandated to be inclusive so there can actually be change. NO! poc aren’t ‘dumber’ or ‘barbaric’ or ‘undignified,’ they’re just constantly victimized by the government and the societal standards people with privilege contribute to
the WHOLE REASON we even need diversity programs is because racism has become so systematic in this country that there’s no way to undo it, just try and rectify it. DEI programs exist because of racism, the same which exists today

saw this expert in economics basically say that how discrimination stems from inequality in means is blown way out of proportion, because ‘logically’ breaking down the statistics would show that, for example, some black americans out earn white americans. okay? you stick to your numbers, in the
I wouldn’t care what people’s personal philosophies were if it didn’t actively perpetuate harmful beliefs and practices. ‘intellectuals’ in highly respected positions use their so called rationale to be transphobic, homophobic, xenophobic, etc. one of the most glaring examples of this right now
abandon ethics and humanity in favor of ‘rational egoism.’ humans are a social species. to belittle the human experience into numbers and graphs is pathetic to me

"No ceiling" results in what we have: a couple dozen psychopaths control several trillion dollars and the power has made them go stark raving mad. They are obsessed with using their concentrated wealth to punish the population and remake the country into a failed state and international pariah.
don’t even get me started on Aristotle, I have a bone to pick with him. look, I’m a philosophy student. I know the significance of the big three Greek philosophers who shaped western philosophy. I appreciate Socrates and Plato’s works, I appreciate some of Aristotle’s work — however the way we
speak of the ‘human’ experience but the male one. why do we need feminist studies and not masculinist studies? why are women treated like an exotic creature that simply can’t be fathomed. It isn’t that men can’t understand women, it’s that they don’t try or respect women as equals

porn addictions have rot people’s brains to the point that they can’t even have a simple human interaction without somehow sexualizing the other person. most often when the other person is a woman

the ‘american dream’ is a very vile lie, considering the current state of affairs. capitalism has become so ingrained in american society that people can’t fathom how any other economic system can serve them better

It’s not a great deal if you don’t need it. And especially this year, others really need support. So for all of us who have enough, let’s refuse to get sucked into the holiday shopping frenzy and share instead of shop. We don’t need more stuff, we need communities where all our neighbors are safe.

even then, black friday discounts are a joke nowadays. “30% off” = $50 ???
a lot of people think repentance just means ‘turning to God’ and praying for forgiveness, as if that excuses their actions. they don’t evolve and become better people out of remorse, but because they don’t want to go to hell. the problem lies in institutionalizing religion
religious AND virtuous by nature. I just don’t understand religious hatred and how certain people discriminate and dehumanize their fellow humans, not because of who they are as a person or their beliefs, but simply because ‘they don’t identify with my religion.’ buddy… you’re not going to heaven

is it controversial to say every organized institution that gathers in shared beliefs is cultish? political cults, religious cults, etc. I mean, I know there are groups that are widely regarded as cults… but by the logic we use to define them, are organized religions not all cults themselves?

I feel like a poser when I say ‘I relate to Sylvia Plath’ because a lot of people relate to her, but I’m telling you, that woman encompasses the whole BPD experience achingly well. Let me tell you, BPD sucks!
