Some art mostly about being a woman in engineering. Born at 357 ppm. Some day I will graduate (or give up).
Nice interview! It popped up in the London Free Press. I did feel like the quote they displayed from you could be read as pro Nous which had me confused for a moment until I read your section. The current state of provincial funding is really an embarrassing statement about Ontario's priorities.

Undergrad may also be a time of exposure to new ideas and experiences. Sexism and racism are still a thing and this changes the experiences for some students. Things like microaggressions may seem obvious to you but be completely invisible for others so be explicit if there are issues. (11/n)

Specifically in a survey of engineering students women were more likely to identify as doing tasks I would classify as administrative (see picture) while men were more likely to do technical tasks. The tendency for women to do report writing was actually highest in 1st years (i.e. from HS) (8/n)

Made me think of this picture from my sibling's farm. An album cover if I ever saw one.

I did a survey of engineering students (about 25% women in the faculty), I had a group work question where they selected all the roles that applied for them... (Sorry about my horrible colour choices for the pink).

Happy International day of women and girls in STEM!

Diversity continues to be a strength, and women and girls make great scientists!

This started my interest in women in engineering, because I had lots of great observations but a lot of people only cared if I'd go on a date with them.

In the last couple years I have done a couple EDI surveys focused on women in eng. 2/

Naturally some folks went to the brewpub in downtown by snowmobile (we went back to pick up some cans). I found it weird how few snowmobile were around in winter as a form of transport when I moved for uni. Took a couple years to sink in that it's a very regional thing...

Dec. 6 marks 35 years since the École Polytechnique femicide that killed 14 women and injured even more. As a woman in the field of Engineering this feels very personal even though I wasn't even born when this happened. 1/3

Hello! I mainly post about my survey about experience of engineering studies (with a strong #WomenInEngineering focus), share some art (on my redbubble!), rage at microsoft updates and post about concrete durability.
