I used the clean data from the ROSA image, combined with the colour from the home image.

M1 is about 6500 light years away, and 5.5 light years in diameter. It is a supernova remnant, from an explosion seen from earth in 1054CE, observed by Mayan, Chinese, Japanese, and Arab astronomers.

Red areas of the image show Ionised Hydrogen (Hα), and blue areas show ionised Oxygen (OIII).

The second and third images are extracted details from the main photograph.

This image had 2,143x10s exposure time, or 5.95 hours.
