Recently picked up this promotional VHS tape containing the Tomorrow Comes Today and Clint Eastwood music videos. Pretty much America’s first introduction to the world of Gorillaz. It’s always so weird seeing more modern animation on VHS since most of my library is from the early nineties.

Picked this up today - a former rental copy of Killer Instinct on the SNES! Video rental stores would cut up the original boxes and that’s what happened here. For $15, I absolutely cannot complain.

Last night was like a dream come true. Had an excellent time at the Plastic Beach show, couldn’t have asked for a better and more energetic night. Hoping tonight’s mystery show is good - I’m not going, but I had to pick up a shirt!

House of Kong. What can I even say? For half an hour, I was taken out of my world and transported to the utterly brilliant and deranged world of Gorillaz. It was all there, Kong Studios, the famous outfits, even Murdoc’s Winnebago. It was the ultimate love letter to the world’s most creative band.

For an hour and a half, I had died and ascended to heaven. Probably the best night of my entire life. Props to everyone in the Demon Days Live ‘25 crew for making tonight absolutely unforgettable. (And yes, Damon did play Happy Landfill live for the very first time!)

I see a lot of people poking fun at the title and, I don’t know if I’m desensitized to this sort of thing as a retro gamer or if I’m amused because of how it sounds like a Tesco value brand version of “The Legend of Zelda”, but I’m just relieved that it isn’t another Various Daylife situation.

The filter actually replicates the dithering effect pretty well.

Looks better with the CRT filter. I was shocked to find that it’s not as bad as the SNES Classic one.

Most likely the Banpresto one, as it was also something you could win in a crane game and it looks pretty similar to the sprite. The Switch version is modeled after the 2009 San-ei Yoshi plush.

Statistically speaking, if the game was released in 1993 and features a normal green Yoshi doll, it’s most likely inspired by the 1991 Vic Tokai, 1991 Sun Arrow, or 1991 Banpresto plush. Pick your poison. (I own the latter two.)
