State Board of Education voted 9-2 to ask NC General Assembly to put a moratorium on expansion of the Opportunity Scholarship program for the 2025-26 school year. It was proposed by Catty Moore. Olivia Oxendine & Treasurer Brad Briner were the no votes. #nced #ncpol #ncga

Two summers ago, I spoke with Nicki Marrone about campus violence and school design. She said gun violence has potential to change school design. Some changes we're already seeing: keep instruction space under 1 roof. Fewer doors.

In the work session, Denton City Council Member Brian Beck (D2) said he plans to oppose the nomination of Ellen Quinn Sullivan to the library board. Council members Paul Meltzer (D3) and Joe Holland (D4) signaled their support for Sullivan.
