Rain brought out the colors of the ferns, moss and lichens and made for a beautiful hike this morning.

Violets have added themselves to my potted shade perennials with some pretty results.
Japanese fern, golden colored creeping Jenny and a violet in bloom at the edge of a black glazed stoneware pot. Purple violets surround a potted hosta with bright green and yellow bordered leaves. English ivy entwines a pot of yellow variegated ground cover and a purple violet in bloom. Potted Solomon’s Seal with a layer of purple violet flowers.

Lettuces are starting to look a bit more substantial & modified Kratky jar herbs are getting bigger. The cilantro was large enough to take a couple of leaves to sprinkle on lunch. Mini peppers were an afterthought; rescued seeds from scraps destined for the compost bin. #hydroponics
Under pinkish Aerogarden lighting, a dozen small green lettuce plants are growing on one side with six black painted jars on the other. Three jars in the back are labeled parsley, basil & cilantro & have aeration tubing, and the three jars in the front have pepper plants and no tubing.

Spotted these lichens while on a hike yesterday. Looked up a bit more about the cups and read that they are reproductive structures called apothecia.

I’d feel better if this platform could be organized as a nonprofit or a co-op. My understanding is that even though Bluesky is open source, it’s still a corporation and it can all be sold again, unless I’m reading the TOS incorrectly or misunderstanding something.
