This is bullshit. Dems need to loudly not vote for this shit. Dems who do can get fucked. We need more AOC’s & less of whatever this is.
There is something so quintessentially American about millions of ordinary people potentially suffering from myriad public health crises because one rich old boy wanted to do a solid for his University of Virginia Law School roommate.

I recently learned just how shitty my brother is to his long term girlfriend. It makes me so mad. It makes me so mad my mom makes endless excuses for him.

He will not: marry her, buy a house w/her, or put her on the deed to his house

A lady on a delta flight was aggressively groped by a man who pretended to be asleep all the while he was rubbing his cock. When she reported it she was blamed. I swear to all the gods we ever invented if some shitty man pulls this on my flight to France tomorrow

Dying from denied medical care isn’t terrorism. One ceo on the other hand …

Republicans never have agency. Their actions are always someone else’s fault.
Warren: I find it just laughable that the Republicans are saying. well, actually, the Republicans couldn't come together and cut a deal, but the Democrats should have gotten out there and saved their sorry butts. That’s just nuts

Today I learned a group of raccoons is called a gaze & I can’t stop thinking about it. Her gaze lingered longingly over the sea. She could feel the intensity of his gaze from across the room. He couldn’t help but gaze at her countenance. His gaze was empty & unseeing.

Thanks to @ricksteves.bsky.social I found out about the UK’s ETA pass. You need that not only to visit the UK, you need it even if you’re catching a connecting flight at an airport. Like Heathrow. It goes into effect on 01/08. THE SAME SAY I LEAVE FOR NICE! I connect in Heathrow.

My depression has been pretty bad lately. Today, not only did I manage basic shit like showering, washing my hair, & brushing my teeth, I busted a cleaning move too.

I did a ton of laundry, took out all recycling, changed the sheets, cleaned the vacuum, vacuumed,

And wait there’s more

Trova trips are a scam. 4K for 5 days, without including meals or flights, is too much. Once you add a flight that’s another 900-1300$. That’s 4900-5300$. For. Five. Days. I’m going to France for 2 weeks. The cost is less than half.

McConnell is the reason why we’re in this position. He should look in the fucking mirror.
Mitch McConnell: “We’re in a very, very dangerous world right now, reminiscent of before world war two,” he says. “Even the slogan is the same. ‘America First.’ That was what they said in the ’30s.”

Imagine saying this out loud. As if R’s won’t give trump what he wants.
In the Situation, @benjaminwittes.bsky.social writes that Senate Republicans' willingness to push back on Trump's nominations "is directionally promising, and it’s something to build on—if, that is, Republican senators want to build on it."

I was told explicitly by a top nyt exec, Carolyn Ryan, that the nyt would never hire a trans journo who’d ever covered trans issues. By her account, a trans journo versed in the issues is by definition biased. That is not ofc a standard the nyt applies to any other group or issue. (Nor should it)
I’ve been saying for years that sports newsrooms are wholly unprepared for this political moment. imo it’s journalistic malpractice not to have a writer on staff who can cover trans sports stories well. But I can’t even place freelance coverage at this point. It’s so bleak.
Work has been drying up for trans writers for years. Of course, part of this is bc work has been drying up for all journalists.

However, with trans issues as the top priority of the Republican party there's a strong journalistic argument for increasing or maintaining that capacity.

Lol the “Greater Idaho” movement thinks they found their champion in trump. ID’s min wage is 4-5$ less. The valley has all the medical care, water, & our tax $$ subsidize eastern OR. If they think they’ll be better off … Good luck with that!
