Sometimes I feel like I’m not doing anything, but then I remember that I’m on the committee that reviews challenged books in our school district. Maybe that’s my niche. I can’t be active in all the ways I wish I could, but I can at least be part of the banned books discourse.

Looked at the holiday calendar last week and confirmed there’s no work today, but now I’m second guessing myself and will have to log in and check again. (We didn’t get Friday off last year, so I feel my confusion is justified.)

The 10 y/o writing her own story. She said I had to write, too, and when I pointed out that she was using my laptop, she replied, “writing on paper will be good practice for you.” Our WIPs are currently 384 and 33,306 words.

Had an awesome book club meeting today, discussing Light from Uncommon Stars by @rykaaoki.bsky.social, and using a fun little game to help us dive deeper. I highly recommend everyone read this! I really enjoyed so many of the characters and want to read even more about their lives.
