Happy New Year
Our NYE tradition is to "Smash in the new year". Which is exactly what it sounds like.
We'll either play belt scrollers or fighting games until 10-11pm, then switch to Super Smash Bros., and do that until sometime after midnight.
I won this year 76 to 55.

Last game of the year for me to roll credits on. Crow Country is a nice little game that is definitely worth a try. It gets the look and feel of 90s survival horror but removes a lot of the clunkiness (e.g. tank controls are optional).

We were kinda busy for a couple months but my wife and I finally got back to RE5 and finished it off on veteran.
I've come around on the game, it's not great but playing it co-op makes it much more tolerable. Especially when playing with someone I've got good synergy with.

Same top game as usual. I've barely played anything in the second half of the year. Double depression has been doing a really good job of ruining my enjoyment of everything since August.

I didn't know it was anime until much later but it was probably Voltron during its original US broadcast.
I know I watched a bunch of other things that were anime when I was young but I never even heard the word anime until a friend showed me Akira sometime in the mid 90s.

RE4R took a bit longer because I was going for Ashley's armor on my first NG+ attempt.
Found out the hard way that trying to lug around a bunch of fish makes the game think you don't need ammo for some reason.
At least the next time I play this I won't have to babysit her.

Last year I finally played the original, so this time I understood what people had complained about with the missing clocktower. I'm still not exactly sure why they complained when what we got instead is way better.
Anyway, this is still one of my favorites.

Wrapped up RE2R last night. I did Claire then Leon and narrowly missed the window for an A for both on Standard difficulty (<5hrs and <4hrs).
This was the game that made me love the series when I played it for the first time 2 years ago. It was just so much better than anything I had played so far.

@pitohui.org You talking about Lenne's name last stream made me wonder if 'Len' is actually the correct pronunciation. Well either everyone has been saying it wrong, or the Japanese translator went a bit wild.
Either way it's still probably a reference to FFV, CT, or possibly FFX-2.

Zelda was 235hrs and I finally gave up on ACNH after playing it for 40 months.
On the PS side it feels kind of unfair to count FFXIV. I mean I'm just a filthy casual in XIV but I still racked up 529+hrs this year.
I also knocked out another 30 or so shorter games that didn't make these lists.

Just got home from our Chicago weekend getaway. Played some rare arcade games (SegaSonic and Castlevania the Arcade among many others) at The Galloping Ghost, went to Medieval Times for dinner, attended the Sonic Symphony, weebed out at Mitsuwa Market, and got some Chicago deep dish pizza.
