WSJ, August 9, 2026: “Elon Musk announces plans to acquire Bluesky social network for $1 billion, citing ‘free speech’ concerns on the popular but money-losing platform”

Expect this, and ask what to do so that this doesn’t happen.

Musk is starting to freak out about Blue Sky, expect Bsky links to start breaking or be marked as unsafe on X. Being here is a major blow to the regressives attacking democracy. That doesn't mean we'll be safe as they aren't far behind, however this space will at least give you a fighting chance.

Good grief, I didn't even think of this, but no doubt it's true.
If I were the Bluesky team, I would get a great legal team on board and generally start preparing for a Trump admin.

Because if it keeps growing as it is and challenges Twitter seriously, Musk will do anything he can to destroy it.

"The fact that Trump is now unlikely to ever face consequences for his crimes can be laid squarely at the feet of one man: Merrick Garland. He dragged his feet on prosecuting Trump, making it easy for him to run out the clock and escape accountability."
The wreckage Merrick Garland leaves behind
His failures left American democracy ripe for the picking.
