We are trying our first listen to @empirepoduk.bsky.social on our drive to Canada, but she is so much louder than he, we can’t get the volume right. Great listen but frustrating😖

Damn, this conclusion:

“We yet cling to the hope that it is not naïve to believe our good brethren in the Executive Branch perceive the rule of law as vital... This case presents their unique chance to vindicate that value and to summon the best that is within us while there is still time.”

I got laid off today, with the rest of 18F.

18F was an elite federal software shop. We made gov't websites work better, more efficiently for the American people. We saved taxpayers from getting screwed over by contractors. And were fired for it.

We made this website to tell our story:

We're not done yet | 18F

Worth remembering that it was a coup attempt--an attempt to steal Congress's powers and turn the presidency into a dictatorship--and that pushing back mattered. Thanks to everyone who raised a ruckus....

I love this so much!

At the inauguration, Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson wore a distinctive collar adorned with cowrie shells, which are believed to offer protection from evil in African traditions.

This choice mirrors the late Justice Ginsburg’s practice of using collars to convey a message.
