When I was in CS grad school ('90's), researchers were told that AI had been around the corner for so long that if they didn't rename whatever they had right then to AI, they'd never get funded.

I own the complete original run of Sandman. The first issue is signed. I haven't burned them yet, mostly because carrying them down to the back yard would be rough on my back. Also, the city might object to random fires. But you better believe I've thought of it.
