My niece isn’t Filipino. (She’s Jewish and Guyanese, fwiw.) But that’s Vancouver. That’s Canada. A place where we share our cultures, our food, our festivals. This isn’t just something that happened to the Filipino community. It happened to all of us. And this morning, we are all feeling the shock.

Will Zale get their own book at some stage? They’ve been so unflappable and helpful to everyone and I’d like to see them have their own special reward.

It’s ridiculous to even think of giving any credence whatsoever to that idea, let alone on CBC. You are meant to be our voice, not to roll over and play dead.
