Studying linguistics really made me reject prescriptivism and policing language etc.

But, uh, can we make an exception to agree that we should never abbreviate the word 'shampoo'?!

I also finally saw The Offspring at the same show, 14 years after we were supposed to see them (and got caught in the Pukkelpop 2011 storm instead).

Very much a night for Teenage Me. It's been quite the year for nostalgia gigs!

Maybe the real eclipse was the clouds we met along the way...

Stood on a hill for 45min, got stung by nettles, saw only clouds, gave up and went home... and then I turned around in my front garden and there was the effing moon. About three minutes after the main eclipse ended. Typical 😅

These lilies grew in my granny Maura's garden for 60+ years (a gift from her mother-in-law). Now, in a quirk of fate, they've started opening on her anniversary every year.

We've been on lily-watch all week, and the first two appeared last night and this morning (her 3rd anniversary) 💜

Started swimming for the first time in a while and I'm sad to report that FitBit has fixed the glitch from last year and I'm no longer swimming 1,225 KILOMETRES at lunchtime
