Another aurora post for the timeline. Was a good one - and didn't involve being up at 4am this time 😅 (Dublin Ireland, 9pm-ish) #northernlights #aurora

New year, same old moon posts.

First supermoon of 2026 on a freezing Dun Laoghaire walk last night 🌕

I know I haven't been going out in town as much as I used to, but, uh, since when do we [checks notes] eat black pudding with our pints to warm us up on pub crawls? 😅

Studying linguistics really made me reject prescriptivism and policing language etc.

But, uh, can we make an exception to agree that we should never abbreviate the word 'shampoo'?!

I also finally saw The Offspring at the same show, 14 years after we were supposed to see them (and got caught in the Pukkelpop 2011 storm instead).

Very much a night for Teenage Me. It's been quite the year for nostalgia gigs!

If you're wondering how long it's been since Simple Plan played in Ireland, let me tell you that I missed their last show as I didn't know it was happening - because I *didn't have the internet* at home yet 😅

Just a 20 year wait to live my teenage emo dreams!

Woke up in the middle of the night and looked out my window... to see this!

An incredible aurora display over Dublin around 3:30am (and a few Taurid meteors as well - not pictured) 😍

I mean... I'd be lying if I said there wasn't a tiny part of me expecting to see the Louvre when they rolled the VT.

Of all the weeks for this task to air! #Taskmaster

Finally got to see one of the comets after a run of cloudy nights in Dublin! (C/2025 A6 Lemmon)

No telescope but the 200mm lens caught it ☄️ #comet #cometlemmon

Maybe the real eclipse was the clouds we met along the way...

Stood on a hill for 45min, got stung by nettles, saw only clouds, gave up and went home... and then I turned around in my front garden and there was the effing moon. About three minutes after the main eclipse ended. Typical 😅

They weren't wrong about the high seas on the Atlantic!

I guess you could say this scammer never made it as a wise man...

I swear I try to find other things to photograph, but I can't resist a moonrise.

(Or should I say... can't fight the moonlight)

I have so many questions for whoever set the Walkinstown Roundabout up as a tourist attraction on Google Maps - and the reviewers who made it a 4-star attraction...

These lilies grew in my granny Maura's garden for 60+ years (a gift from her mother-in-law). Now, in a quirk of fate, they've started opening on her anniversary every year.

We've been on lily-watch all week, and the first two appeared last night and this morning (her 3rd anniversary) 💜

This does mean my collection of sea photos is now starting to rival my collection of moon photos...

(Howth earlier this week)

Friends fear she's making stupid book jokes again...

(this one was during lockdown, as you can see by the length of my 'fringe')

One of my new year's resolutions this year was just 'See the sea more'... and honestly, it's the best one I ever made

Started swimming for the first time in a while and I'm sad to report that FitBit has fixed the glitch from last year and I'm no longer swimming 1,225 KILOMETRES at lunchtime

Five years ago, I took a photo of the April full moon and posted it with a caption saying 'maybe this will be my lockdown hobby'.

I thought I might do it for a few weeks...

So, uh, anyway, here's tonight's April moon and a couple from earlier this week

Another go at waiting for gaps in the cloud! Got some small glimpses of this morning's partial solar eclipse #eclipse

(Technically these are still Moon Pics, so we're still on brand)
