Do you think it would help if editors stepped in and when sending reviewers comments would write: “Point 3,5 and 8 do not need to be addressed because they are a matter of the reviewer’s personal opinion”. As a “young” PI, I always feel that I must respond to everything, even if it’s ridiculous.

What Zahra said already. I only do it if I aim at a high impact journal and I know that it will take a long time to get through review. Also, once it’s archived, it exists for the funding agencies and CV purposes.

They were very quick at thoroughly rinsing the puncture point with water and calling 911 (finger started swelling). The student was released from the hospital and his finger seems safe thanks to their awareness of the potential danger and quick response. [2/2] #ChemSafety
