Comments range from praising the candidate for being hardworking to suggesting people may answer their door armed if you drop off a flyer at night.

The candidate join in and gets into arguments, at one point apparently threatening legal action against another person who says his screenshot is fake.

Delivering your election flyers to doorsteps at midnight — good idea or no?

This St. Albert candidate was spotted on a doorbell camera at 12:06 am a couple days ago and caused quite a stir in the local Facebook group.
Post in the St. Albert Chat Facebook group says: “Anyone know this person. He was going house to house checking porches on Noah close. **update** I contacted Mark Cassidy regarding this. He admitted he was out putting pamphlets out at this time. I advised him that it was very startling having someone going around houses at this time and that my neighbour is a single lady. She didn’t have a mailbox so all he did was look around her porch and keep walking. He blew me off and was quite rude. If you were thinking about voting for him I’d seriously consider. I told him I am trying to let him know the concerns and he was rude and had no time for it.” Two images side-by-side. Here’s part of what McFee wrote in his cover letter
“While addressing the obvious conflicts related to two of city council’s most recent appointments — wherein the appearance of reasonable apprehension of bias that will render these two individuals wholly unable to fulfill their roles with the Edmonton Police Commission — it is also clear that the nature of the issue before you is not minor and is, in fact, such that broader issues of governance must be considered,” McFee wrote.

Members of Edmonton Police Commission can also expense costs for conferences. Those costs are disclosed in their regular reports (biannual / quarterly). #yeg #yegcc
Commissioners also bill for attending conferences last year. The most recent report from Jan. 1 to June 30, 2024 shows six commissioners were reimbursed for conferences or hosting a local event: Michael Lee ($8,486), John McDougall ($5,415), Walter (Wally) Sinclair ($5,370), Shazia Amiri ($3,872), Ben Henderson ($3,791), Anne-Marie Lambert ($280). Matthew Barker, executive director of the commission, also expensed $3,292.79, mostly for hosting an event.

Without disclosing totals we don’t know how much Edmonton Police Commission members took home in 2024, but I did some rough math based on # of meetings & committee meetings, who sits on each / who chairs. (Excludes special meetings & other $ for attending events etc). #yeg #yegcc
Former chair John McDougall would have received between $7,900 and $16,010 last year for meetings if he attended every regular police commission and commission committee meeting — this doesn’t include attendance at special meetings, conferences or other events. For scheduled regular and committee meetings only, other commissioners would have taken home between $3,300 to $6,200 if all sessions were kept under three hours, or between $6,600 to $12,800 if all meetings were three hours or longer.
