I always feel conflicted when mentoring junior researchers given the knowledge I have about how toxic this industry can be. How to share the harsh truth of the job whilst also encouraging incredible talent to jump in?

How do we overcome this problem? Declining to peer review papers? What if that further disenfranchises the voices that need the most air?
