Unfortunately these situations are all to familiar to me. And many others.

It's International Women's Day on Saturday and the theme this year is "from promises to progress".

I've been in working in science for about 15 years now and it really doesn't feel like any progress has been made.
A friend included this anti-acknowledgement section on her PhD thesis. She also added the proposition: “Systematic bullying and undermining of girls and women in STEM starts early on and is the reason why they do not stay in science and related fields.”
Absurd we still need to go through this

Our new article out in Science Advances today! 🌊 In Europe we have protected 1% of our deep-sea biodiversity from bottom-contact fishing, but our analysis revealed that 3,500 hours of fishing still occurred within these protected areas. www.science.org/doi/full/10....
