The Eco Council have selected three winners for our Walk to School design a new badge competition. The theme was 'Walk with Joy'. These children received a prize and their entries have been submitted to represent our school.

In Y5, the children have engaged in an amazing STEM workshop (Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths) and used the skills they learnt to create their very own gliders! They used their knowledge to enter a competition to design a sustainable aircraft of the future.

'Bright Bites' the dental charity came into school this week to talk about keeping our teeth healthy. Parents and children found the visit really helpful and the children all received a free toothbrush and tube of toothpaste. Get brushing everyone!

To celebrate World Book Day in Y6, children and staff were asked to dress up as an emotion. Throughout the day, there have been various exciting activities which included: a graphic novel competition, a whole school ‘Storyraid’ and designing a scratch art bookmark.

In Year 5, the children have been to Burnley Youth Theatre to meet the school they are going to link with throughout the year. During the day, they took part in different activities to build new friendships and bonds with their linked school.

EYFS have enjoyed learning about how Chinese people celebrate Chinese New Year. They have tried noodles with soy sauce and even attempted using chopsticks!

Over the past few weeks in Geography Year 1 have been learning and identifying human and physical features in class and around school. On Friday, staff and the Year 1 children went for a walk outside looking for these features in the local environment.

Class 6-1 have engaged in some drama enrichment delivered by Burnley Youth Theatre which was focused around their new classic fiction unit – The Wizard of Oz.

Lucky Year 1 had a roaring time when two rangers introduced them to their wonderful dinosaurs. They told the children lots of facts about their features, habitat and diet. Our little ‘Dino mites’ loved touching them and luckily no first aid was needed!
