A couple of excerpts from Brooks Williams' Performative Outrage.
Highly recommend this read to public servants, elected officials, and candidates for elected office.

With municipal elections in Ontario less than one year away (Election Day is October 26, 2026), watch for this.

Governance is about strengthening our communities. It's not about performative outrage as an end in itself. Watch for the candidates who are only angry and don't offer viable solutions.

Today, this guy turns TWENTY
I won't get into all the ways he is the most wonderful son, big brother to his soon-to-be 18yo sibling, and all around outstanding human
Instead, I will tell you that, yes, he peed in that helmet that his dad thought it would be hilarious to put him in

The really awful and stressful housing situation we three Ips endured in January and February resulted in a walk to work that is less than half an hour and the opportunity for this:

to hold him and his party to account. We can't have any more years of this.

If you're not strongly tied to a party, I implore you to have a look at the individual candidates in St. Catharines. Look at what each of them has done for their community - in their roles

Furthermore, the party has released a fully costed platform that I can get on board with. (See photos on this thread, and here's the link: ontarioliberal.ca/.../A-Plan-t...

In my various roles in the community, I have seen the impacts of the last seven years under Ford and how little has been done

It is my opinion that she is the most intelligent of the three candidates; that she best understands the issues our city is facing; that she is most likely to actually get meaningful things done for St. Catharines; and I have seen her work very well with people, regardless their political views.

I understand this surprise, so let me explain.

Having worked, in some capacity, with all three of the main candidates running in St. Catharines, I believe very strongly that Robin McPherson for STC is - without any question - the most qualified of the three candidates.

When it comes to party politics, it is said that individual candidates have only about 10% influence over the election results in their riding.

In the last month, people have asked why I am managing a Liberal campaign or expressed surprise about me managing a Liberal campaign.

My seat mate at Council since December 2018, Diana Huson, has resigned from Council to pursue an exciting opportunity, and I'm going to miss her terribly

Get out and vote Robin McPherson for STC
Advance polls are open today, tomorrow, and Saturday.
