A couple of excerpts from Brooks Williams' Performative Outrage.
Highly recommend this read to public servants, elected officials, and candidates for elected office.

With municipal elections in Ontario less than one year away (Election Day is October 26, 2026), watch for this.

Governance is about strengthening our communities. It's not about performative outrage as an end in itself. Watch for the candidates who are only angry and don't offer viable solutions.

Thanks Councillors @lauraip.bsky.social & Morocco for moving and @niagararegion.bsky.social for unanimously endorsing the Code of Conduct to Prevent Human Trafficking tonight!
The Code provides strategies to develop a zero-tolerance approach to Human Trafficking in the #NiagaraRegion.

Today, this guy turns TWENTY
I won't get into all the ways he is the most wonderful son, big brother to his soon-to-be 18yo sibling, and all around outstanding human
Instead, I will tell you that, yes, he peed in that helmet that his dad thought it would be hilarious to put him in

The really awful and stressful housing situation we three Ips endured in January and February resulted in a walk to work that is less than half an hour and the opportunity for this:

As far as weather goes in February, it's an excellent day to go vote with a temperature of 5 degrees and some sunshine this afternoon.

The Returning Office is open for voting today from 10am to 8pm and tomorrow from 10am to 6pm.

For the St. Catharines riding, the Returning Office is located

When it comes to party politics, it is said that individual candidates have only about 10% influence over the election results in their riding.

In the last month, people have asked why I am managing a Liberal campaign or expressed surprise about me managing a Liberal campaign.

My seat mate at Council since December 2018, Diana Huson, has resigned from Council to pursue an exciting opportunity, and I'm going to miss her terribly

There is misinformation circulating that if you don't register to vote by February 17, you will be denied the opportunity to vote.

In actual fact, if you don't register by February 17 (if you're not already on the register), you are unlikely to receive a Voter Information Card, as there isn't time

The kids and I need a place to live.
We are excellent tenants.
Three-bedroom in St. Catharines, preferably a house, but beggars can't be choosers.
Leads below, please. No sympathy, please, because I will completely fall apart.

It’s the last day to take advantage of 10% off 20 or more personal training sessions!

If you are an existing (even if brand new) or returning (even if it’s been a while) client, you can take 10% off packages of 20 or more personal training sessions until the end of today

And, with that, we say

Just a reminder: you are NOT unusual, weird, or unlovable if you have:

- no one to see on Christmas Day,
- no presents, or
- no contactable relatives.

Very few people live the idealised version on TV. Those of us who live differently—whether by choice or trauma—matter as much.
