There needs to be more awareness of the after effects of pneumonia on the elderly. You can almost be lulled into a full sense of security that there’s been a recovery, but the decline happens just a little bit later.

Honestly, whoever in DEFRA is doing the government alerts about managing beavers, you have made my morning.

Myself and Ollie completed the #winterwalk for #endometriosisuk
today and a bit more! We are very close to doubling our target so if you can donate to this worthy cause which affects 1 in 10 women, you can do so here: www.justgiving.com/page/oliver-...

On Saturday, myself and my lovely partner Ollie will be completing a 10k Walk to raise funds for #Endometriosis UK next Saturday.
I’m battling with stage 4 of this condition so any donations or shares would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance! www.justgiving.com/page/oliver-...

I wrote about the way the SEND crisis is quietly unpicking women's lives - destroying careers, dismantling relationships, damaging physical and mental health.

And all this goes on unacknowledged.

Long read for The i Paper:

Keen to get to this event this morning but not keen enough to get on a packed train where my soul (what’s left of it) would also be crushed.

Absolutely ridiculous how a bit of slushy snow turns Watford into meltdown.

It has been quite the week this week including being told I have less endo in places and new endo in others. The body is a strange thing.

What part of my body hurts the most isn’t a meatloaf song I thought I’d relate to at 32 but here we are. #endo

I agree with this and it's a great policy, but I think (not least given that the speech he did give was a bit of a mess) that you actually could weave this into a something headline grabbing by making a theme of 'here are the things we've done that we just did by dint of *having ministerial office'
Changing these kind petty brutalities and stupidities where they are found will make a big difference for many, even if not headline making policy news.

One of my favourite types of FT pieces is a long exploration of how a workplace operates, and this fascinating explanation of why the various attempts to reduce the long hours investment bankers work haven’t worked is a really good example:
High pressure, long days, crushing workloads: why is investment banking like this?
Bespoke banking can never be nine-to-five

This is wild.
Remember that recent story about how mushrooms have a more complex genome than humans?

Well…
Right, well, humanity has had a decent innings. Time to let mushroom robots have a crack.
