Cllr Lesley McLean and I have written to the Key Medical Practice asking them to reconsider their decision to close routine medical appointments for a month from 26th January, and to the Integrated Care Board to ask them to intervene to protect patients' access to essential care.

ICE murdered an unarmed man who was not resisting them on video and this is the BBC headline. This is a travesty and the BBC must do better.

Flicking through the contents of a new bit of bedtime reading while waiting for the OCC lane rental scheme briefing to start and if that's not a quality evening in I don't know what is

So we need to increase defence spending to develop a fully- independent nuclear deterrent, disentangle from US procurement and reinforce alliances with the rest of NATO, right?
January 18, 2026 at 12:12 PM
Yeah exactly, if they were going to give us one they'd have done it by now. No edit button

Think I deserve some multitasking mum points. Took kid to party, delivered leaflets for village the party was in, reported blocked drains while delivering leaflets, back to party, quick cuppa, done

Haven't used it in more than a year but hit the button this week. It's sad, because I loved Twitter, but it's gone and it's not coming back and if child sexual abuse isn't your line then I don't know what is.

Had one of those doorknocking sessions today which reminds you why you do it. Lots of brilliant chats, a man showed me how he was installing a heat pump and talked me through the training challenges, and a young woman talked about the specific challenges in rural areas for people in their 20s

Already a wait of six months anyway, all good, never mind, nothing to see here

Just seems absolutely nuts that these are considered, in regulatory terms, the same level of dangerous when they obviously aren't?

Clarion speculation about the Lib Dem Christmas party is wholly inaccurate. We do not/NOT have data-focused Christmas jumpers.

Pic unrelated.

I have every sympathy for the people of Bickershaw but we shouldn't have to live next to a pile of rotting toxic waste out of a warped sense of fairness - Josh Simons needs to take it up with his own party leadership so that enforcement is properly funded and ALL these sites are cleared up.

I do have concerns though about the plan to fund the clear up through 'efficiencies'. The fact is that EA underfunding is one of the reasons their response to initial reports was so lacklustre and they need more funding, not less, if the criminal gangs that did this are going to be held to account

Quick trip to the St Mary's Christmas Tree Festival followed by a street stall in Kidlington village with @calummillerld.bsky.social promoting our petition to get the illegal landfill cleared

But also: the article mixes up Local Government Reorganisation and the creation of new mayoralties - no, the mayors won't head up the new unitary authorities - which does slightly suggest that it might not have been a brilliant idea to do two major subnational government changes at the same time.

Had a very wet afternoon visiting local businesses to ask them to host @calummillerld.bsky.social petition calling on the government to clear up the illegal landfill! If you'd like to sign, there are petitions at Koopa Coffee, Oxford Building Supplies and Barefoot Coffee for the whole of this week!

Unprecedented levels of dad as @calummillerld.bsky.social sets up a decorating platform to show Ed Davey the illegal landfill without breaching the restriction order
