I'm not going back to subway commuting. I'll take it if the weather is super bad, but riding my bike is just so much more reliable.

I had 3 issues in 10 trips. With that kind of reliability, it is no wonder that there is a reluctance to take transit. I was so happy to be able to simply bike to where I needed to go today.

In my 5 days of mix mode commuting, once my go train was converted to an express, and it did not stop at my embarking station or my destination station, meeting I needed to take the next train.

3. It's a way to indicate that I'm a cyclist when shopping at local businesses. With business lobbying the government to remove bike lanes, I want them to know how I am getting to their stores to shop.

2. My kid legally has to wear a helmet. It's easier to be a parent when we have the same rules for everyone in the household.

1. It's an easy way to reduce risk and I'm risk adverse. I've been in two accidents. Fortunately, I've never hit my head. In fact, the thing that protected me the most were my gloves, which kept my hands from being torn up. Both gloves and helmets are easy ways to mitigate some risk.

The north end of Davenport skews more liberal than the south end. Where I live, it was pretty even liberal/NDP signs.
