More of the usual. People who have never lived through a difficult time in their lives, judging those who are juggling multiple jobs for no reward, on a constant hamster wheel of exhaustion. It’s getting old now!

Looking forward to seeing our NHS get back on its feet!
The PM has launched our plan for cutting waiting times from 18 months today, to a maximum of 18 weeks, something that the NHS hasn’t achieved for a decade.

There's a lot to do, but combined with the Leighton hospital rebuilding plans, I feel very hopeful about the future of our local NHS.

Please take extra care when out and about at the moment. Wear shoes with good grips, I have ice grips for my shoes when it’s this icy and consider whether you need to take a journey. As we see such short bursts of cold weather very few of us are prepared for it so need to vary routines a little.

Today is World AIDS day. Thanks to Medical advances it is no longer the immediate death sentence that it once was but there is still a huge amount of stigma associated with AIDS and HIV diagnosis.
World AIDS DAY stands to raise awareness and work toward a world where people are not unfairly treated

With the seasonal festivities comes difficulty for many. Please reach out if you’re struggling. You matter more than you realise.

Many of you will know Foden’s as the amazing world champion brass band that Sandbach can call its own. What many of you will not know is that they could soon be homeless and possibly forced to fold if we can’t find somewhere to become their storage and practice space.
Can you help?

A date worth noting in your diary. Drop in-sessions through the winter for help from citizen’s advice. Thursday 12th December 10-12 is the next date at Sandbach library.

This shouldn’t need a day, it should be a thing of the past, but while it continues we must do all we can raise awareness and work to abolish violence against anyone.

On Transgender Day of Remembrance we must stand against the hatred that has led to the death of 350 trans people across the world this past year.

Bigotry can never win. I will always be an ally.

Do you know anyone in Sandbach who will be on their own at Christmas? The Churches together Christmas lunch is a lovely event, I popped in last year as Mayor and had a great time. The food looked and smelt amazing and the quiz definitely tested my general knowledge to the max!

It was great to join colleagues in meeting with the Education Secretary yesterday.

I raised the urgent need to tackle the crisis in SEND, as well as pushing the value of T-level qualifications with employers, so providers like Crewe UTC can unlock opportunities for young people.

Cheshire East are expecting to receive more funding under the new funding formula. We are so far behind our neighbours in GM and Mersey region that it’ll take a while but if this trajectory continues there is hope for a meaningful public transport system across the borough.
