I fear this country is looking at a long, hot summer like 1967, and it’s going to take more than QR codes and strongly-worded letters to stop it
I am introducing the Quick Recognition (QR) Act, which requires ICE and CBP officers to wear uniforms featuring QR codes. When scanned, the code would generate a digital ID displaying the officer’s name, badge number, and law enforcement agency.

ICE should be unmasked both physically and digitally.

Jimmy Kimmel, Steven Colbert, and others affected by Trump's unprecedented and thoroughly un-American interference with media and entertainment companies have an opportunity to create their own media company, hosted outside the US, to counteract the nonsense from Trump.

I'm just old enough to have gone to school before vaccinations were strictly enforced in public school. A kid I knew got measles, developed secondary complications, and became hearing impaired.

Similar situations (or worse) will happen over and over again before antivax loses its hold on people.

I keep hearing, if we do basically ANYTHING to shut this down “he will declare an emergency & use Martial Law”.

IT IS ALREADY HAPPENING!! He HAS declared NINE emergencies in 8 months! We have MILITARY being deployed into cities.

He WILL suspend elections.

The time for revolution is NOW.

Drones that capture video are not terribly expensive, are 100% legal, and are harder to knock out of a concerned citizen's hand than a cell phone. Drone operators don't need to be right where a drone is flying.

Was thinking that they might be useful for protestors and watchers.

India produces a large amount of the pharmaceuticals (both finished and the active ingredients) taken by people in the US.

Absent a carve-out for pharmaceuticals, that 25% tariff on goods from India is going to have a massive impact on all of us in this country.

Vaccines for the 2025-2026 flu season began shipping in early July.

Today RFK Jr & co banned thimerosal from flu vaccines.

Great timing, guys. Truly the stellar work I expect from the expert leading the FDA. Or maybe his brain worm is running the show. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Fortunately, thimerosal isn't widely used

Changing health insurance yet again as a disabled person has made me realize that we need portability of prior authorizations between insurers. Missing medications due to paperwork endangers patients.

Dems must block this spending bill to prevent more money being available for Trump's and Musk's antics. @aoc.bsky.social @repjasmine.bsky.social @ilhanmn.bsky.social @sanders.senate.gov should lead the DNC since @schumer.senate.gov is not acting in the interests of the American people.

Accessing my health insurance claims info takes my username, a 27-character password, a text to my phone, a drop of blood, a sample of my first pet's fur, and a magical ritual under the waxing moon.

Meanwhile, I can't consistently remember where I put my keys.

I was happy to see that Coca-Cola still supports DEI.

Which is good, not just because it's the right thing to do, but also because Diet Coke has been of my bad habits since the first Reagan administration. And I don't have many bad habits left.

She's 82, and considering it.

Guess I'm going to learn how to keep a wood stove going on high all winter long.

DOGE shut down the federal agency that provided login and other IT services for Medicare, Medicaid, & Social Security, with no transition plan.

How logins are "far left" (as the agency was called), IDK.

Messing with beneficiaries' access to Medicare and Social Security sites is a BAD idea.

Several ppl I know grew up in dictatorships in the 1970s and 1980s. No matter the country, they all learned the same survival lessons extremely young.

Number one: you don't see anything, you don't hear anything, and you don't know anything.

Americans need to start practicing that now.

The US government has never shut down an entire media outlet before. It is a dangerous precedent that they have done so and it has been upheld by the Supreme Court, which should recognize the danger.
