what's the difference between the shades of brown here? I went to the original link but it wasn't very clear what Lowrise 1 and Lowrise 2 mean.

I don't think that is what happened

FDR speeches are so clear and powerful. There are so many that give clarifying purpose to the war effort that still resonate

I think it was the belittling threats of a forced take-over more than the tariffs themselves. We in the US have forgotten and moved on to the next news cycle but the north remembers

Is it going to say "The Donald Trump & John F. Kennedy Memorial Center"?

Translink in Vancouver has a store and it's pretty good (it has a wide selection of Brio-style trains with older model sky trains and newer ones).

Sound Transit also has a store but it's a lot more limited (it has zero Brio-style trains)

King County Metro doesn't have a store at all

fwiw pop culture in the late 70's and early 80's was steeped in 50's nostalgia. Happy Days, Back to the Future, Peggy Sue Got Married, and Grease. The Brat Pack movies are also very 50s inspired

why is it so far from both the Moon and the Earth? Will Artemis travel to the moon differently than the Apollo missions?

The Last Jedi had some great scenes but it's brought down by being a part of the sequel trilogy - its position adds meaninglessness to everything that happens in it.

this thread shows how terrible North American setbacks are. Did they really need to maintain all that space for dead grass and shrubs along the school and the community center?

I wonder if they ever consider hills/total elevation gain. Some of these walk-zones would require significant hikes uphill to get to their school.

In the article she says most Americans are “never going to step foot in a ballroom over the course of their lifetime” ...“But what they do every single day is try to feed their kids, make sure that they get a job to show up to"

I think she's missing the obvious connection and symbolism here

I'd also be shocked if any of the drivers that passed through the closure stopped at that stop sign at 1st and Howe.

Idea for an amicus brief: We list the powers in a chart let's say Louis XIV claimed for himself, and maybe the courts can just indicate with a checkmark which ones of those Trump doesn't have. Seems more efficient.

There's a WWI monument in Washington Sq in NYC that has an Abraham Lincoln quote: "For the great republic--for the principle it lives by, and keeps alive--for man's vast future"

These people do not believe there is a principal we live by or that man has a vast future

Fare capping aside, I'd love it if there was a weekly fare at all. Some weeks I ride the bus regularly and some weeks I don't
