Leadership at the Speed of Send
@latsos.bsky.social
Leadership is challenging, rewarding, & exhilarating. Also lonely, terrifying, & exhausting. And it has a habit of choosing us when we least expect it. So make it a lifestyle. A constant practice. Do it intentionally. I’m here to help you.
If anyone is trying to sort it out, my shirt says, "I want for you whatever you want for immigrants."

The ideal & most stable relationship is one with high trust & high credibility. Low trust, high credibility allows time to rebuild trust. High trust, low credibility indicates likelihood of deception by the trustee. Low trust, low credibility relationships are on the verge of collapse. (7/7)

If someone does not trust you, evaluate your credibility. If the shortfall is there, correct the alignment of or consistency between your words & deeds.

If the shortfall is in the other's perception, explain yourself & invest the time to earn -- or re-earn -- the gift of their trust. (6/7)

Credibility belongs to each of us as individuals. Because it is based on the literal alignment of & consistency between our words & deeds, we are fully responsible for it.

Craft your credibility deliberately; protect it ferociously -- but honestly. (5/7)

Trust cannot be mandated, demanded, directed, or expected. It is a gift that belongs to the giver even after it is given. For this reason, & because it is based on perception, we cannot control the trust of others in us.

Give the gift of your trust deliberately & Intentionally. (4/7)

Trust is based another's perception of the consistency of & alignment between our words & deeds; credibility is based on the literal consistency of & alignment between our words & deeds. (3/7)

Trust is a belief that another person will act in our best interests -- often when we have little or no control of their decisions or actions.

Trust is intertwined with credibility. They are similar in that they are rooted in the consistency of & alignment between words & deeds. (2/7)

Fair point, not at all a digression. It’s common to think of leadership as positional rather than situational. Greenleaf really paved the way to thinking of leadership as situational with his work on servant leadership.

Brings to my mind Samwise as a leader (& hero) in his support of Frodo. :)

Still primitive, but consolidated & I hope authentic as I find my stride.

Will appreciate any engagement & relay as you see fit.
