It’s deeply weird how those who scream the loudest:

-about merit are not particularly impressive

-about loneliness are poorly socialized and not good companions

-about loss of culture are generally incurious & uninteresting

Obviously Jane Austen didn’t write about the politics of her time, and if she had they wouldn’t really translate to the present day. But damn, those Bingley sisters are the most Republican characters ever.

Save the outrage and call that troll video what it is: the shitshow video. It’s much more descriptive of basically everything this administration does.

Reminder that I generally view the Trump government as four distinct governments:

1.) Miller/Hegseth/Noem (plus Vance)

2.) Lutnick/Bessent/Wiles + Congress Liasons

3.) Vought/DOGE

4.) Kennedy/Oz HHS

It's becoming clear that this is not an administration that is popular or skilled enough to do the consolidation needed to implement actual fascism, so they've decided that constantly creating fascism-flavored content is good enough

I doubt I took half a dozen doses of acetaminophen throughout my pregnancy, but I still have an ASD/ADHD kid. I even took methylfolate instead of plain folic acid because I knew some people can’t absorb the latter well.

I’ve never spent time in a right-leaning group or community— rich/poor, educated/working-class, etc.— and thought “wow, what incisive and interesting people! I’d love to continue to hang with them, if only they considered me worthy!” Never. Not once in 40+ years of political sentience. Got bored.

I figure if Bill Clinton is the worst human I ever vote for as POTUS— or for that matter Gavin Newsom, in a few years— my civic conscience is going to be just fine.

I think it’s important to remember that even if all the horror stories about cities were true (they’re not), an awful lot of people willingly pay a premium to live there, just to avoid the idiots who believe the horror stories. And it’s worth every penny.

Forget kids’ dolls for Christmas. I’m waiting for MAGA riots when the tariffs hit their blow-up sex dolls.

So. Republicans, in general, don’t support civil rights, human rights, reproductive rights, academic freedom, religious freedom, existing alliances, or even the Geneva Conventions. They’re even worse citizens than they are Christians (for those who claim adherence).
