I test fired my old Tetlow kiln to see if it would get to mid-high temperatures. I was pessimistic after three hours at max power didn't move the test cones, but when I turned it off at bed time, the cones were all down. The highest was a cone 8. I think it would reach 10? #pottery #kiln #ceramics

The Green Man fired up okay. The pinhole bubbles melted away as I'd hoped. The contrast between the deep and shallow sections of the carving is greater than I had expected.

My first crack at a Green Man pottery thing. I hope to fire it in the next few days. If it works out as intended, it should be a handsome green colour. I'm a bit worried about the many, many little pinhole air bubbles in the glaze, but fingers crossed it might resolve when the glaze liquifies.
