I don't care what anyone else says, this is peak fashion 😆

Special lab coat and scrub trousers for work in our Clean Lab.

As an aside, I actually do love the colour combination. I'm like a scientific watermelon.

Another weekend, another move. Next up:

The Visitor (2024)

Well... That was... something. We're glad we watched it, but this is a very strange film.

We appreciated this movie and the themes it explored. With that being said, exercise discretion when watching.

Last up on our movie weekend:

Popeye: The Slayer Man (2025)

A straightforward B-Horror movie, with some flat acting, sprinkled with humour and some basic-but-fun practical effects.

A little predictable but overall pretty competent and a decent watch.

Continuing on with our weekend of movies:

Hercules Returns (1993)

I'd heard so much about this movie, and it didn't disappoint. Classic Australian humour, with some frenetic energy and great laughs.

Next up for our weekend movie session:

Gorp (1980)

Tagline: "A bunch of fruits, nuts and flakes"

I won't spend much time on reviewing this. Take all the worst aspects of your 80's fraternity comedy movies, and let the actors loose.

Another weekend, so another series of movies for my husband and I to enjoy.

First up, Street Fighter (1994).

A fun, campy and seemingly self-aware flurry of action, this was enjoyable but perhaps over-long, especially towards the end.

The Guardian has published their May list of Australian food in season.

Looking forward to some good citrus, avocados and Brussels sprouts. And though I never got around to it last month, maybe roast some chestnuts.

A little trip out to Macadamias Australia, near Bundaberg. Really impressive little visitors centre and tasty macadam treats. Sampling with me, as always, is @damienhuffer.bsky.social 😊

Lovely little trip to Urangan Markets with @damienhuffer.bsky.social and my parents to have a bit of a wander and see what has changed since our last visit to Hervey Bay.

Snagged some rosella jam, lime and dragonfruit jam as well. Also yummy tacos from the food truck "Let's Taco 'Bout It"

A quiet evening in, the perfect time for another movie.

Puberty Blues (1981)

A touching and realistic film that gives a glimpse into life as highschoolers in the late 70s. Though my high school years were in the late 90s, not much had changed.

Photo taken from as much distance as possible - Mum and Dad Curlew were not thrilled to have their picture taken.

Science is amazing... always something new to discover or learn.
Pushing the known limits of lanthanide oxidation, chemists have isolated praseodymium (Pr) in the +5 oxidation state. The finding suggests that chemists should shift how they situate lanthanides in the periodic table. cen.acs.org/materials/in... #chemsky🧪

The globalization of news has made the whole world’s problems our problem, fostering a sense of powerlessness that’s led many to redefine morality from “doing good” to merely “feeling bad”.

C. S. Lewis wrote of this in his 1946 letter to Bede Griffiths:
