My favorite seasonal mugs often contain the extra fuel for these days when I'm doing more than my body authorized. It will be worth when a spring flower bed blooms in glorious profusion. Meantime? It's extra caffeine, aged manure to enrich the clay pretending to be concrete, and body yelling at me.

Here there be Dragons!

Sunday's Gremlin is rumpled and disgruntled
There's a rumpled void boi loaf, dappled with autumn sunlight, one paw slightly forward to grip the edge of his catio corner shelf. The angle of his whiskers, ears, even back fur, all radiate unspecified, yet thorough disgruntlement. There's yellow, gold, green leaves visible, with the delicate bright drops of fuchsia blooms from green hanging basket. If you listen you'll hear the squirrels squabbling up in the tree. Maybe that's what's disturbing himself, himself.

The buildings. The windows. The angles. And then, that reflection. 👀
Page 105 from Nightwing, vol 5, by Tom Taylor, it's a cityscape of high-rise buildings in masonry and glass, one in particular of angled glass, reflecting Batgirl and Nightwing from below as they dive out of a window to go save the day. Nightwing's left arm leads the view. It's crisp, full of movement, and very technical, specific accurate (wonderful) architectural surroundings. It really leads the reader into the action, into the city (Bludhaven). It's gorgeous, detailed, yet deceptively simple, unless you stop to consider it, or you know, drool on your tablet. FYI the entire Tom Taylor Nightwing run is illustrated so far by Bruno Redondo & other great artists, with scene after scene like this. If possible, the action sequences, esp two page layouts, are even better.

Today's rainy weather made it perfect for multiple mugs of hot tea, and this audiobook via libby. Highly recommend A Guide to Magical Innkeeping by Sangu Mandanna. It's very similar to her previous book, the Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches.
