Will you be at Dragonmeet selling this, by any chance?

For what it’s worth, I have on numerous occasions been inspired to take my designs and thought processes in completely new directions because of an idea you’ve posted about.

The real issue is time and energy, because every DIY solution needs you to be able to actually do the thing. And god knows that can be hard. But if you have the privilege of having time and energy, then money by and of itself is not an insurmountable obstacle to getting your stuff out there.

…but not necessarily by a huge lot. If you can get access to a printer and a long arm stapler you can make and put together zine-size games for very little per copy. Distribution will cost you, so if you’re mailing your stuff, plan for that in your pricing.

The trick there was that you had to clear your throat beforehand, otherwise it didn’t count. It surprised me then how long the game could go on even after I got it and thought the jig was up.

And I remember a party where we played a version introduced by a French lady, where someone did an action like clap their hands in a certain rhythm and people had to volunteer to try to follow it, and then the ”judges” said whether they did it right or not.

… and the people in the know would see if you were sitting on your own hand(s) when you said it, and pass judgement on whether or not what you claimed was true.

I don’t know the name for this genre, but we used to play a few when I was a kid, especially during summer on the beach. In the one I remember best you announced ”I can travel to [X place] ’på egen hand’” which is Swedish for ’on my own’ but literally means ’on my own hand’” …

Looks like the sort of building Cassian Andor is planning to break into.
