I saw Merrily We Roll Along and thought it was fantastic. More people would like musicals if they knew there was stuff like this. It's only a shame it didn't get more marketing—most people I've talked to didn't know it was in theaters until I told them.

How crazy would it be if this line from ZA/UM's new trailer was literal

I have one who lives on my windowsill. He is not big enough to eat yet but someday he will make a delicious soup

Left has been my phone background for nearly 5 years. It's my favorite art in the game, I just adore the style, I spent so many hours poring over the old knights of glory art. Super excited to try the FFT remaster when it comes out.

Whoever told you curly bangs don't work is lying! Some stylists avoid them because they are not experienced working with curls.
They are gorgeous, they just require a little more effort to maintain. These are just random pics from Google. But of course go with a style that feels like you

DREDGE

I bought this at full price a day before it was free on epic, smh. Worth it to support the devs though- this game was fun and has incredible moody vibes. The core gameplay loop is probably not for everyone but I found it meditative. Great game for people who like to 100% an encyclopedia.

Ok, it's time for my 2025 games thread. First up:

Superliminal

To be honest I did not enjoy this one much, the gameplay was boring and the dialogue was obnoxious. I guess it's my own fault for expecting this to be a puzzle game, when it really just feels like a proof of concept

The Case of the Golden Idol

A clever mystery that gracefully balances giving enough info for you to deduce everything with not spelling things out for you. Everything is logical but nothing is obvious. I like that it doesnt narrate between scenes, trusting the player to fill in the gaps themselves.

Pokemon Conquest

Tbh this game is not very good. It has a lot of style and great potential but the small numbers of maps and moves in it make it incredibly repetitive. Still I was determined to 100% all the campaigns and perfect links just because it's absurdly long and I take that as a challenge.

Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box

I feel the same about this game as the previous Layton: cute and fun but often unfair. Also, the puzzle at the climax of this game depends on the DS mic, so it makes no sense in the mobile port, which is really kinda funny.

Crow Country

Another great game from SFB games. The art is charming, the dialogue is funny, and I was really surprised by how clever—and creepy—the ending was.

Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope

I loved the first game, but I found this one to be really disappointing. It lacks the clever, puzzle-like level design and gameplay is less strategic overall. Also, they ruined my boy beep-o. It does get points for giving rabbid Mario the funniest voice lines ever.

Metroid Prime Remastered

After the way people talked about this game my whole life, I was kind of disappointed. It was fun, and the remastered graphics were gorgeous, but it just did not feel as complex or as satisfying as the 2D Metroid games.

Metroid: Zero Mission

One of the best Metroid games I've played, just after Dread. This and Fusion feel surprisingly good for their age, although I found Zero Mission to have better pacing and story beats.

Vampire Survivors
This game was so addicting I had to cut myself off. But not before I unlocked all the characters, items and secrets. I can't let myself play the DLC, it's too dangerous.

Splatoon 3: Side Order

One of the most fun experiences I've had in Splatoon, though it's hard to say because they're all pretty great. What it lacked in story it more than made up for in gameplay.

Sheepy: A short Adventure

I would have enjoyed this game if it didn't run so slowly, have the music cut out all the time, etc... I guess I shouldn't complain about a free game but something went terribly wrong here. My PC runs Baldur's Gate 3 better than this. I don't get the hype regardless

Celeste 64

Cute Celeste anniversary celebration game, the mechanics of the original translate pretty well to 3D. I haven't played anything new in ages because Hades still has me hooked

Professor Layton and the Curious Village

Cute puzzle game, I had a good time with most of the puzzles, a few of them were straight up wrong or unfair though. Still a good time.

Hades

When I bought this a few years ago I believed I would never be able to beat it, but now I regularly win up to like 8 heat easily. Its not much but I'm really proud of myself for this. What more can I say, this game is peak

Fire Emblem Three Houses: Verdant Wind route

Idk why I torture myself by replaying my least favorite FE; the story was definitely better this time around but all of the problems did not go away. Also the hard mode is way too easy. Knowing myself, I will probably play it again too lmao

There is no Game: Wrong Dimension

This is a funny, smart, touching point and click non-game that I almost dropped completely because of one absolutely terrible chapter. Glad I didn't, though, because I wouldn't have heard the banger that is GiGi's song otherwise.
