You might have seen reports of the Liberal Party whining that I, as your community independent, spend too much time "opposing the opposition."
Here’s what the major parties don’t get: THIS IS NOT ABOUT THEM. IT’S NEVER BEEN ABOUT THEM. IT’S ABOUT YOU.

This is Trawsfynydd ☢️ Power Station in Gwynedd, Wales

It commissioned in 1965 & operated for 26 years until 1991

It took 6 years, until 1997, to remove the spent ☢️ fuel rods

Demolition was to be between 2020-26. But because the site is still so radioactive it’s not expected to complete until 2083

Sweden has announced a zero waste rate, and is importing #recycling from other countries. Here in Australia, we can’t even get #Coles and #Woolworths to coordinate the recycling of soft plastics. We are woefully behind, with no plan. #auspol

Swedish recycling so successful it is importing rubbish
As the result of an astonishing ‘recycling revolution’, Sweden has nearly reached ‘zero waste’ levels and imports at least two million tonnes of rubbish from other European countries.

Dear National Anti-Corruption Commissioner Paul Brereton: just resign. Now.

Discredited Brereton should stop whingeing and resign from the NACC
The National Anti-Corruption Commission head devoted a major speech to explaining why he shouldn't resign. It perfectly demonstrated why he should.

if you’re a #labor or #coalition supporter, i’ll understand if you want to avoid eye contact today…

the 2 major parties are ramming through a set of anti-democratic changes to the fundamental settings of our democracy…

33% of Parliament on the Crossbench would ensure every bill (except those the duopoly found common ground on) was scrutinised.

50%+ means the duopoly no longer holds ultimate power to do (or not do) as it wishes, whenever it chooses.

A few more of these, please.

my take: farrell has crafted a devilishly complex package (410 pages!) and told libs it’s a “teal killer” and they have to ram it through tomorrow, or else the opportunity is lost.

but they're being played…
Labor and the Coalition have just joined forces to vote down the referral of the newly introduced ‘Electoral Reform Amendment Bill 2024’ to the ‘Joint Standing Committee on Electoral Matters’ for inquiry. No scrutiny, no public input! #DemocracyFail #auspol
