i strongly agree. i also think if you want to be any good at talking about art, you need to consume as much art as humanly possible and talk about it all the time. each piece of art is in conversation with a thousand different other things.
my personal idea for games media is that future publications should not merely aspire to be games publications, but arts and culture ones. Games-focused shops should still exist, but I think one path forward is to start with the argument we’ve been making: that games are part of culture

It took seeing adult bullies to understand that my childhood bullies didn’t even really want to hurt me, they just wanted to feel powerful and how I felt about it wasn’t even in the equation.
I can’t imagine someone not outgrowing that, but apparently it happens quite a lot!

Older dude in front of me in line at the grocery brought the ad in with him and like 75% of what he bought was allegedly discounted per said ad. But he couldn't use the discount because it was digital only, he had to use the app, and the dude didn't have a phone.
