We use a shipping service to get online purchases delivered to Costa Rica. They’ve always gone through a Miami, FL address. But now the company’s announced shipping direct from China. Not hard to figure out why (can you say “tariffs”? 🫣). Bye bye Amazon, hello Ali Baba & Temu.

Wall of the former army fort where in 1948 President Figueres struck a symbolic hammer blow to abolish the Costa Rican army. Today is a national holiday commemorating that event. The money spent on the military was redirected to education & social services. Imagine that. #lifeincostarica
