Someone asked me if I have a Christmas tree at home and I said no, I don’t.

To be honest, it’s been at least 12 years since the last time we assemble and decorate a Christmas tree. My parents and I always prefer to celebrate Christmas in a solemn manner. We even never had a Christmas dinner.

Someone that I could hold on to

Maybe all we need

'cause, baby, I believe
that love will find a way"

The fact that Instagram and LinkedIn can give me the same anxiety sensation just by spending 10 minutes there should make me think that some social media platforms are worth abandoning indeed.

There’s so much hatred on Threads just like on Twitter. People would fight over small silly things.

I just hope that Bluesky will not turn into a bitter place where people can be that horribly envious and narrow-minded…

Social media has become too noisy to me. Many of the users are likely to overgeneralise things and assume that others should feel what they have experienced.

Ex: Just because they feel that living abroad is a nice experience, they judge anyone who feels the contrary to have poor adaptability.

Yesterday, I visited to a small family from the church to say hello to their son. The father and the mother greeted me so warmly and before I left, the mother gave me some books for free. She said that she actually loves reading and every time she passes by a bookstore, she feels so happy.

This is beautiful. I am going to share it to inspire my Indonesian fellows especially those who have been fighting for democracy in our country.
I wrote this poem over a year ago. Seems like now is a good time to post it again.

While #Indonesian academia personnels mostly use Threads as their platform to spread their ideas and thoughts about living abroad, I find many scientists from #Europe and the US spread theirs here on Bluesky.

It’s interesting to see people from academia abandoning X after… well you know, right? 🙂

1. I once heard some people said that scientists shouldn't get involved with politics. Doing my master in Bordeaux made me realise that even small political decisions could dictate how scientists and researchers would have to do their works as financial support could be limited and administration...

A Microsoft researcher today presented results behind the company’s controversial claim last month to have created the first ‘topological’ qubits — a long-sought goal of quantum computing.

Microsoft quantum computing claim still lacks evidence: physicists are dubious
Some attendees of a packed presentation were curious about the prospect of the first ‘topological’ qubits, but left with questions unanswered.

“I am sorry if I am so mean to you. My MBTI character is ****, I hope you understand.”

No, I don’t. If you are kind, you will find your ways to spread your kindness. And you’re deliberately evil, nothing will stop you from being toxic and negative towards people…

Bagaimana kalau angka atau indeks "engagement" atau "viewers" suatu postingan medsos justru membuat bermedsos jadi nggak menyenangkan lagi?

Alih-alih kita bermedsos utk menyuarakan pendapat yg, semoga ya, bisa dipertanggungjawabkan, kita malah bermedsos utk dilihat orang.
