This Thanksgiving, we stepped up for our community. With our partners and volunteers, we helped families prepare a warm holiday meal delivering 150 pernil, 821 turkeys, and 300 chickens across the Bronx. Hope everyone had a beautiful Thanksgiving. I see you, I hear you, and I fight for you.

Meet Trinity, our Student Ambassador. At last week’s Ogden Market Thanksgiving Giveaway, she helped us serve 100+ families, bagging groceries, handing out turkeys, and supporting neighbors. Grateful for her and her mom for always showing up for the community.

On the 18th and 19th, we joined Council Member Althea Stevens to host two Thanksgiving food distributions in the 77th District. Families showed up early, volunteers packed carts, and we connected with neighbors who rely on this support. Our work doesn’t stop after the holidays.

A few days ago, Yonkers hosted the final Black Taskforce Listening Session. State leaders and I heard directly from residents about how the $30M should support Black communities across New York. Their priorities will guide the work ahead as we push for real equity and investment.

A few days ago, Council Member Pierina Sanchez and I hosted a Thanksgiving giveaway at Jerome & Tremont with Morris Heights Health Center, Food Bazaar, and Madd Equities. Committed to supporting families across the District.

We fed 150+ neighbors at Lou Gehrig Plaza yesterday. The need is real. SNAP and EBT aren’t covering rising food prices. We’re pushing for change so no Bronx family goes hungry.
