Geraldine Minor shares what seniors are dealing with—heavy groceries, unsafe crossings, the Sedgwick stairs, and long detours home. Some stay on the bus to Jerome; others go to 170th for the B. We’re working with the MTA to improve Bx18 service.

The Bx18B changes aren’t working for seniors like Ms. Geraldine Minor. Long waits, unsafe mid-street stops, and double-parking delays are making basic errands harder. DOT says this redesign helps seniors, but that’s not what she’s experiencing.

Let me know what updates you believe the Bx18 needs.

This Thanksgiving, we stepped up for our community. With our partners and volunteers, we helped families prepare a warm holiday meal delivering 150 pernil, 821 turkeys, and 300 chickens across the Bronx. Hope everyone had a beautiful Thanksgiving. I see you, I hear you, and I fight for you.

Sharing a great holiday event at Roberto Clemente State Park!

On Dec 13, they’re hosting two wreath-making sessions for teens and adults: 11 AM–1 PM and 1–3 PM. A fun chance to get creative and bring home a festive wreath!

Joined the ribbon cutting for the new Bronx DMV at the Terminal Market. The upgrades and improved layout will help deliver faster, more efficient service for our residents.

As an organ donor, I encourage everyone to learn about registering one choice can save lives.

Meet Trinity, our Student Ambassador. At last week’s Ogden Market Thanksgiving Giveaway, she helped us serve 100+ families, bagging groceries, handing out turkeys, and supporting neighbors. Grateful for her and her mom for always showing up for the community.

Good morning,

We’re aware of the water leak on Nelson Ave between 167th and 168th. DEP is on-site now, investigating and working to fix the issue. Water service is temporarily shut down, and the street is closed. We’ll share updates as they come in.

We partnered with MS22 a few days ago to bring holiday support to families—refreshments, pantry goods, turkeys, and a raffle. The MS22 band and LEAP dancers made the event unforgettable.

It was great to visit River Park Towers and see our seniors receiving their Thanksgiving food with smiles and gratitude. They always bring such great energy. From there, we headed to IS229 to make sure the school community had the groceries and resources they needed as well.

A few days ago, Yonkers hosted the final Black Taskforce Listening Session. State leaders and I heard directly from residents about how the $30M should support Black communities across New York. Their priorities will guide the work ahead as we push for real equity and investment.

We fed 150+ neighbors at Lou Gehrig Plaza yesterday. The need is real. SNAP and EBT aren’t covering rising food prices. We’re pushing for change so no Bronx family goes hungry.

Joined families and advocates at the Second Look Act press conference yesterday. Proud to support Second Look, Earned Time, and the Marvin Mayfield Act. New York needs fairer sentencing and real second chances.
