Whether or not a journalist was included, the use of the signal app for highly confidential military planning remains illegal, contravenes dod policy directives, and endangers our nation. We know know that Wittkowitz was in the Kremlin when he visited the chat and Tulsi Gabbard was in an undisclosed foreign country. I am alarmed that those responsible are trying to lie and deflect their way out of the worst security breach of this century, maybe of the past hundred years. I don't need to spell out all the implications of this scandal-- the harm to our credibility and alliances, the potential danger to Americans in the armed services, the violation of the official records act as well as 18 USC 793 f. Immediate resignations and dismissals should have followed. If you voted for any of the principals involved, please learn a lesson. Do not confirm such persons who lack the required credentials, experience, and personal good character. Please do not let this scandal rest. Investigate, make criminal referrals, impeach those involved. The impeachment charges that follow should include the president who has a duty to see that the laws are faithfully executed but in this instance has condoned illegality that endangers our national security. No one who swore an oath to the constitution should let this matter rest.

Please refer to the fact sheet https://www.whitehouse.gov/fact-sheets/2025/02/fact-sheet-president-donald-j-trump-reins-in-independent-agencies-to-restore-a-government-that-answers-to-the-american-people/. I am especially concerned about the bullet “The President and the Attorney General (subject to the President’s supervision and control) will interpret the law for the executive branch, instead of having separate agencies adopt conflicting interpretations.” This appears to be a way for the President to provide unlawful interpretations of the laws passed by Congress and the interpretations of the law by the judicial branch. This is a constitutional emergency and we need to act NOW! Will articles of impeachment be drafted tomorrow? Will you speak up for all Americans about how this is wrong and provide leadership on how to organize around a unified message that we will not allow the Executive branch to have unchecked power?
