In case you missed last night’s news, a federal district judge in Washington state issued a nationwide preliminary injunction in our suit with @hrc.org against the Trump administration’s efforts to ban transgender people from enlisting or continuing to serve in the military.

This morning, I joined Lambda Legal team members in Washington state, where oral arguments were made in our case, Shilling v. Trump, challenging the Trump administration's ban on transgender people in the military.

Today’s preliminary injunction hearing in our case, National Urban League v. Trump, made it clear that the President’s executive orders will cause irreparable harm to our communities.

Once you take away a right from a disenfranchised community, it becomes much easier to take away other rights from that community.

Case in point—every state that has banned trans student athletes has gone on to enact other restrictions on trans rights.
