As a survivor of the Tulsa Race Massacre, Viola Ford Fletcher bravely shared her story so that we’d never forget this painful part of our history. Michelle and I are grateful for her lifelong work to advance civil rights, and send our love to her family.

Four years ago, Portland did something almost no other city has: made it legal to live in a backyard home on wheels.

Today at @sightline.org, @citizen-cate.bsky.social has three stories of the consequences. www.sightline.org/2025/09/11/h...

I'll keep saying it. In light of the decision in "Cycle Toronto v Ontario" plus Alberta and Nova Scotia pursuing magical thinking and stroking a culture war, it's time for PM Carney and Transpo Minister Freeland to tell the provinces to stay in their lane:

Stumbled across this photo taken on my wait in Pr Rupert for ferry in Dec 1991 on actual move to Haida Gwaii. A now long time friend was working on that ferry....and had just bought a car like mine. Asked a question about it. Remember, D?

Public money should go toward cleaner, healthier energy, not fracked gas. As the doctors write: “Governments that obfuscate the relationship between public health and LNG are gambling with residents’ lives.”

Let’s stop the gamble.

“Advanced recycling” is a marketing trick:
🔍 Most of the plastic processed ends up as fuel, not new plastic.
⚠️ They pollute more than they recycle.
♻️ And they’re being used to delay real solutions to the plastics crisis.
