Transgender and non-binary youth are more than twice as likely to have thought of self-harm in their lifetime compared to those who are cisgender (a person whose gender identity corresponds with the sex registered for them at birth).

Transgender communities, and in particular transgender people of colour, face some of the highest rates of violent crime—with 70% of trans youth in Canada experiencing some form of sexual harassment or violence.

We've invited City staff from multiple departments who can answer your questions and support our discussion: Bylaw and Regulatory Services, Recreation, Cultural, and Facility Services, Public Works, Transit Services, Traffic Services, Building Code Services, and Planning and Building Services.

The Town Hall is a chance to learn about ongoing city projects, share your feedback with staff, and connect with your neighbours. City staff from departments across the City will be there to answer your questions and provide information on programs and policies shaping our community.

But you know what is the best unrestricted fund for a municipality? Taxes and fees, the existing social contract with our residents. A donation button is sort of a bougie look for a municipality, and people will see through it.
