Zoning seems like such a dry subject, but it's one I hear from residents about a lot! If you ever have concerns about a new development in your neighbourhood, a new business opening, or issues like backyard parking, those are all Zoning By-law questions.

Today is Transgender Day of Remembrance, bringing attention to the transgender and gender diverse people who have lost their lives due to anti-trans violence, and raises awareness around the continued adversity that trans people face in our society.

Very appreciative of my time with the Copeland Park Community Alliance at their AGM this week. The work this team has done to launch some very successful community events over the last couple of years is staggering. #collegeward is very lucky!

More than 1 in 4 households in Ottawa are food insecure.

Food insecurity an income and cost-based issue. Read the 2025 Ottawa Hunger Report to learn more about food security in our city: www.ottawafoodbank.ca/wp-content/u...

🧵 There’s been some attention on the City’s new “donation button”. It’s an idea we talked about last year and that we were supposed to get a report on before proceeding. Maybe I missed it...

But here we are. And I have thoughts.

It's Budget Day at City Hall, which means going through a LOT of presentations, meetings, and reading this giant binder. I'll be posting more about the investments we're getting in #CollegeWard and my thoughts about funding for transit, transportation, recreation, and more.

A most joyful and rich event celebrating the relationships that underpin the Ottawa Aboriginal Coalition and our local urban First Nations, Métis and Inuit communities. Susan Aglukark as the keynote speaker was mind blowing.

Thank you Briargreen Community Association for inviting me to your AGM. It was great to chat construction, Lansdowne 2.0, sidewalk repair, and much more. I always enjoy in person opportunities to connect with my neighbours and pull back the curtain on what it takes to get things done. #collegeward

With Councillors @SeanDevine9.bsky.social, Kitts, Curry and Hill, I was interested to learn more about Invest Ottawa’s plan to position the NCR as Canada’s Defence Innovation Hub. #collegeward is home to defence tech companies and now is a time where sovereignty is on our collective minds.

Was proud to attend the unveiling of a new mural alongside the largest donation in the @OttawaFoodBank.bsky.social’s history, from a #collegeward family ❤️. Usually anonymous, Franklin and Brigitte were motivated to put their name on the $2.5m donation to encourage others to consider philanthropy.

Such a warm welcome at the Lynwood Community Association AGM. Thoughtful and sensitive questions about traffic, zoning and intensification, the future of the speed camera program, and more. I’m always grateful to connect with residents who engage in mutual respect and kindness. And SuzyQ donuts!

A contractor will work Saturday & Sunday this weekend in Ainsley Park to complete sod reinstatements. The work would occur within Noise By-law hours and should be fairly low impact, as they are only planning to place sod and clean up the site.

The Bel-Air Community Association AGM will take place on Sunday Nov 16th from 1pm - 3 p.m. at Trinity United Church, 1099 Maitland Avenue, Ottawa.

I can't attend, due to the meeting's date change. I'll make sure to follow up with the executive to capture any important asks.

Next Monday, Christ Church Bells Corners is offering its annual opportunity for people of all faiths to gather together and remember a loved one who has passed away this year. We all grieve, regardless of background, and can share in that experience.

It was my honour to see #collegeward builders at the Better Buildings Ottawa Awards Breakfast. These corporations are demonstrating excellence in energy efficiency and emissions reduction. As Brent Gilmour of @cagbc.org said in his opening remarks, efficiency is the cornerstone of affordability.
