The people trying to convince you there is no genocide in Gaza are also lying about China.

Thread of important threads, starting with the most important thread.

(I don't think that 95% figure is still accurate, BTW, if only because of the deletion rate.)
From now on, dedicated thread for reposting Palestinian gofundmes et al cuz y'all keep getting deleted.

Don't get too excited by this though--I have no money, no connections, and probably 95% of my followers are other Palestinians also asking for money.

People who know me irl know I often say that the purpose of a system is what it does. That maxim applies to institutions, people, countries, and ideologies.

And that's why Zionism is genocidal. Because we've seen what it does.

And for the people who say "but what about the United States?"

Um yes. The purpose of the US has been proven to be a white supremacist imperial power, weapons dealer, and for profit prison camp. That's what it does. 🤷

"Japan's four deadly sins on Ryukyu."

How did the ancient and proud Kingdom of Ryukyu, came to be known as "Okinawa" today? How did Japan unleash its campaign of brutality, imperialism, and bloody fascism on this once independent and peaceful kingdom it renamed "Okinawa"? Watch this video to learn.

one annoying thing here is that in the series of shots showing the man being thrown out of the window into the snow, his clothes change. can the AI prompt programs really not handle "make that one again, but put the man in the same clothes as this other one"?
McDonald's has released an AI-generated Christmas ad

The studio behind it says they 'hardly slept' for several weeks while writing AI prompts and refining the shots — 'AI didn't make this film. We did'

The small reactionary section of atheists is elevated and blown out of proportion because they are aligned with the bourgeoisie. The vast majority of “nones” are vastly more progressive / left leaning in their politics than any other group. “Nones” are now 30% of the population.

I’m tired of the broad brush generalizations that only serve to paint a large mostly progressive group as a reactionary force

Probably the most depressing aspect of the last 24 hours is how many atheists told me they default to calling themselves agnostic because they don’t want to be viewed this way. Do not concede this territory to the reactionary bourgeoisie and the narratives they push!

From Inside the Tent – Winter is Killing Us
Every day, one of us wakes up sick — stomach pain, flu, fever, exhaustion.
The cold inside the tent is unbearable. There’s nothing to keep us warm.
Rain leaks in. The ground is wet. Nights are freezing

38 years ago today in the Jabalia refugee camp in Gaza, Palestinians initiated the First Intifada, popular non-violent resistance against the Israeli government’s occupation that lasted from 1987-1993.

Today Jabalia lies in ruins, destroyed by the Israeli military, with the majority of the families living there forced to flee.

The word intifada, which literally translates to “shaking off,” is widely used to describe uprisings and protests for liberation. When people call for an intifada, they are calling for an end to Israeli oppression of Palestinians – they’re calling for freedom.

While the Intifada emerged spontaneously, quickly local committees were organized to support the popular resistance. The uprisings lasted for nearly six years, and hold deep significance in the history of the Palestinian struggle.

From images of young boys throwing rocks at Israeli tanks, to women launching mass boycotts, the widespread resistance of the First Intifada period remains a powerful legacy for Palestinians today who continue to struggle for freedom from Israeli occupation, apartheid, and genocide.

Inevitably, oppressed people everywhere will seek — and gain — their freedom. And the global movement to gain that liberation supports Palestinians’ steadfast struggle of over 77 years for liberation.

Jabalia, like most of Gaza, lies in ruins. But we know that Palestinian popular resistance — and with it Jabalia and all of Gaza — will rise again. Another world is possible. We stand with Palestinians who fight each day to live their lives with dignity and justice.
