5 young friends go camping, find a staircase. One of them climbs it and vanishes. Years later the 4 get together, climb a staircase in the woods and end up in the house from hell.

The least likeable characters but a tightly written story about friendship and facing yourself and how trauma lingers

Kinsey is leader of a desert research team that discovers a strange specimen. The team brings it back to base only to discover something in search of a new host.

Only reason I read it in 2 sittings is I had stuff to do. A little bit The Thing, which I enjoyed.

One British man's contemporaneous account of being a rum runner during Prohibition in America. Reads almost like a novel at times.

A good biography of Dr. Thomas Mutter, considering he didn't leave a diary or much correspondence. It doesn't cover the acquisition of his collection, only that he collected. And the creation of the Mutter Museum is covered briefly.

Enjoyed.

Best selling writer Eli Grey got in a rideshare on her way to a gig and woke up in a basement. With no one except her assistant expecting her to check in, she has to figure out why her captor is so invested in her created world.

Excellent story about con culture, Metoo, fans who feel they own work

Did not finish. The premise is that hyper powers fall because of intolerance and the author doesn't make the case convincingly if at all.
