This is simply another tool taken from the fascist playbook. If you dehumanize or villify an entire category of people, it makes it easier to not be emotionally impacted by what happens to them. You see them as... objects. Animals. Demons. Whatever.

Accurate, but being whittled away. The foundation of the US is the rule of law, and that is being ignored at the highest levels.
It almost doens't matter if it's just being used as a tool of terror and fear, it's working.

You're absolutely right, and this is actually part of the problem. It's tempting to go low and attack them in the same form they're using against us, but I don't think tha'tll work or help our position. We HAVE the moral high ground. It's one of the few advantages we have. We can't discard it.

It is who we are becoming. Because the GOP wishes it, and they got their wish. I'd lke to think a large part of them are like "uhh, thi... may be going a bit far" - but too late now. Next up, deportations for mothers who force their kids to eat spinach.

The level of "oh wait, we didn't think of that" for all the actions of the current administraiton (and I put Elmo in that category) is astonishing. At what point does something really disasterous happen that can be tied right back to them? Like firing all of NOAA and having a dozen planes crash?

It's a challenge to be sure. It's so tempting to take it to their level, but as states so well elsewhere...

The problem here is that this works only for .1% of the people impacted. You can't raise the visibility on everyone this is happening to, only the advantaged and wealthy.

The problem here is that this works only for .1% of the people impacted. You can't raise the visibility on everyone this is happening to, only the advantaged and wealthy.
